The important role of the Internal Communications team for Brand Personality

When it comes to supporting and reaching corporate objectives, the role of the Internal Communications team has never been more important than it is right now. Without even knowing your corporate objectives in detail, I can bet that they include areas like; greater brand awareness, enhanced customer experience and loyalty, and increased market share and/or revenue.

The core driver to achieving this, I believe, lies in creating a better level of respect, trust, and authenticity in your corporate brand. Additionally, increasing employee engagement is essential. This can all be achieved by the way your people communicate and their behaviors.

It is the job of the Internal Communications department to ensure that the right (and the most powerful) messages about the company get out there and are talking about. This should include presenting the senior management team as individuals, getting their personalities across and personal brands more well-known.

With all of the clever marketing methods being utilized (and more marketing budget being made available), these areas must have a high level of focus. Without the “people” element of the brand, companies are laying themselves open to huge risk.
